Just add magic is a story about 3 best friends Kelly, Darbie and Hannah, who's world turn upside down once a magic cookbook enters their lives. so the story goes that, Kelly found her grandma, Becky's old cookbook in her attic. her grandmother can't speak due to some health issues. so, there were some funny named recipes in the cookbook, and as it was her grandma's birthday the next day so, she started to cook a recipe called as shut 'em up shortcake with Darbie and Hannah. but they noticed a ingredient as Cedronian Vanilla and the weird thing was that Mama p was the only one who ever knew about it. there soon appeared a riddle that said "Be warned - whenever adding Cedronian spice, whatever results will come with a price." They ignored the riddle not knowing that it may be true soon the downsides of the recipes come with a price. But, they figure out how to break the spells and realized that Kelly's grandma was in a spell as well but soon as they kept cooking various secrets of her past had come to light. just like Kelly and her 2 best friends, Becky had 2 best friends as well Mama p and miss silvers, except that the book tore them apart. In order to break the curse put on Becky they found out that there was a spell on Mama p and Miss Silvers as well. And in order to break her own curse, Mama p tricked Kelly into believing that she was trying to break Becky's curse but by the time she realized that it was all a lie it was too late and Mama p broke her curse and left Saffron falls. except that the entire saffron falls was frozen except of Kelly, Hannah, Darbie and miss silvers because they had a protection shake. the 3 girls had to invent their own recipe, a recipe that would break all curses and their recipe worked except that if this recipe had broken all curses a dark secret from their past would return and endanger the power of the magic within the book.
