Season 3 is the most interesting part in the originals according to me. Klaus’s old friend Lucien has returned to New Orleans in search of a dark object that can trap the Mikaelsons in a deep sleep for centuries so they cannot die( if any original vampire dies their entire sire line dies with them. Lucien was klaus’s first sire, Aurora du Martel was the first sire of Rebekah and Tristan du Martel ( Aurora’s brother) is Elijah’s first sire. There is a prophecy that stands The fall of the mikaelsons. If this prophecy is fulfilled they will all fall one by friend, one by foe, and one by family. They tried to stop the prophecy but Lucien took advantage of it, he used the white oak tree ash and the venom of the seven werewolf packs to make himself into something stronger than the originals. His bite was now lethal to the originals. Finn got resurrected by Freya. After being resurrected he was bitten by Lucien so he died and so did Cami O’Connell. He made 2 bottles of the serum , he took one and gave the other one to Aurora. They were able to kill Lucien by using the power of Davina, but she died along with them. They extracted the venom from Aurora but Vincent betrayed the mikaelsons and gave it to Marcel . Marcel was a son to klaus meaning family, Rebekah’s boyfriend meaning friend and when Elijah ripped his heart out and killed him, he became a foe. So the prophecy was true. Marcel bit kol and Elijah, hexed Rebekah to become the relentless ripper, poisoned Freya put a blade into klaus and kept him alive. Freya performed one last spell and linked the mikaelsons life with klaus and put them in a deep sleep. So Hayley had enough time to find a cure for the mikaelsons.
